University of Richmond RD Class of 2022

Has anyone else not received anything in the mail yet? I’m stressing out. I live in the Midwest and it should not be taking this long

@str543 have you checked your mailing address in your portal? UR sent son’s decision to our home address instead of our PO box which inadvertently was delivered to our neighbor. Thankfully they walked if over that night. Maybe double check that everything is right?

Perhaps the weather back there is holding things up? Son got his on Tuesday in California. I’d probably give it the rest of the week and call next week.

@turtletime Where do you find the mailing address in the portal?

@str543 honestly, I think I confused the portal with another school that listed the addresses and allowed you to ammend. Richmond did sent to our home address over mailing but there was no way to double check where it would go on the Richmond portal. My apologies. I would call early next week. If you call now, I suspect they’ll just say to give it a few more days.

Thanks @guineagirl96. That does make more sense.

Any advice/thoughts on whether the admitted students day is worth attending?

@turtletime Thank you!

How are freshmen roommates assigned at Richmond?
Is it random for all? some?.. do most people request someone?

@dragonmom3 In general, they’ll get students to fill out a list of hopes, lifestyle preferences, and interests. From there, they can either pick themselves or let the housing team decide based off of the responds (I did the latter). They’ll probably invite you to a Class of 2022 FB page which’ll have a bunch of same-year students’ profiles, so that might help some people. I think most people go random first year (with some exceptions) and start picking for next year’s placement after they’ve established a friend base.

Can anyone tell me how I get off of the waitlist? I was waitlisted when rd decisions came out and I initially chose to accept a spot on the waitlist, but I recently got into my dream school (UVA) and already paid the deposit so I am 100% going there. Do I have to call the admissions office or something else? I just don’t want to risk taking the spot of someone that would actually go there. Thanks!

@jakero232 That’s great! I’m sure you’ll love it. You should be able to just resend this form but select the do not consider any further option: admissions.richmond.edu/forms/waitlist.html.

You can also just email an admissions officer and see what they do.

@nih00 You getting waitlisted must have been for yield protection. I mean come on!

@MON824 Thanks for the help!
