Hi I'm an international student applying to U Rochester RD. Are interviews required? Will there be a negative impact on my admission if I don't have an interview? (I live far away from Rochester) Is a 2000+ SAT score safe for U Rochester? I'll be so grateful if someone can answer my problems. :)

Hard to say. The Classes of 2016 and 17 were both overbooked so competition is likely to be a lot more tough this year to ease down on the strain. I wouldn’t count a 2000+ as ‘safe’ anymore, I’d say it depends more on the rest of your application. We won’t know until crunch time rolls around, but if the last few years have been any indication, I’m willing to bet UR will have a stellar pool of applicants to pick from and an interview could really help you stand out. Have you looked into any opportunities in your area or emailed an admissions counselor about it?

My guy interviewed by phone with an alumni. There are many ways to interview - they don’t have to be on campus in person. I’d recommend contacting your admissions counselor and trying to set something up that will work for you. I would not consider a 2000+ SAT safe for anyone - especially this year…

Thanks for your replies! :)

can you set up a Skype interview?
