•University of Rochester RD Class of 2020•

Still on Step 4. I’ve checked this portal so many times it’s insane. >:-(

And thank you @premed98 — finally some more specific info!

@RerunGirl You should have sent the December score…it didn’t matter if the rest of the app was turned in earlier. It is probably worth a call to admissions to see if it is too late to rush send December score report. That is if you still want to attend UR and possibly move higher on the waitlist. 1950 vs 2090 is the difference between being below median and a bit above median score, I believe.

Got wait listed also, expected a flat rejection. 1850 SAT but high math, 3.75 unweighted GPA, strong ECs and 8 total APs. Better than nothing I guess.

@gsilva16 How did you find out? Email or portal?

@pickpocket thanks for the advice! I sent my scores in last Monday and they said it wouldn’t be a problem…who knows? Maybe it was my rough junior year or weak essays. :frowning: I have emailed them to consider my scores afresh.

@RerunGirl I hope they consider it, Wish you the best! Please do call (instead of an email) your admissions counselor. They get lots of emails and may see yours later than you wish.

waitlisted as well, assuming its because i didn’t show interest.

For those who got their decisions, can you please tell us how you were notified?

I got an email, and when I opened my portal, there was a form an Alternate List which u can be called up from in April or May for August 2016 or Jan 2017

Waitlisted. I’m pretty disappointed. 3.5 UW GPA, 2260 SAT.

I think I was waitlisted because I didn’t show any particular interest in Rochester over my other choices, and because I missed the interview, which they “highly recommend.”

I’m just confused…do all decisions come out at random times today, or is this the end of the wave?

still no decision :((

Thank you for your interest in attending the University of Rochester. The admissions committee completed its review of your credentials for admission. Because we received a record number of applications this year for a limited number of freshman spaces, I’m unable to offer you admission today, but I would like the opportunity to reconsider your application later.
Approximately 3% of our applicants are invited to join the alternate list. In April or May, space in the Class of 2020 might become available, leading to later offers of admission to students on this list. If you’re admitted from the alternate list, you’ll have the same status as any other admitted student; you’ll live in on-campus housing, attend Orientation in August, and retain your full eligibility for financial assistance.
If you remain interested in attending Rochester, log in to your MyROC account to complete the Alternate List Reply Form.
Completing this form sooner maximizes your chances for admission. In particular, those students interested in the option for first enrollment at Rochester in January 2017 should complete it quickly, and indicate that interest. There’s no penalty or risk for this; students who have an interest in this option will retain their space on the Alternate List for first entrance in August 2016 as long as space is potentially available.
Only those who respond affirmatively will be reconsidered for admission. Students on the Alternate List are not ranked. Your application will earn another individual review if the opportunity to extend more offers presents itself.

Does anyone think they’re sending out the wait listed candidates first? This thread seems to suggest that.

@premed98 I think it’s random, but maybe domestic applicants get their decisions before international applicants

I GOT NOTHING AND IM GETTING SO MUCH ANXIETY

It does seem like there was a wave of waitlists, so I’m guessing another batch of acceptances as well as flat out rejections (probably the group I’m in, tbh) will be sent either tomorrow or within the next hour.

@chuchutrain97 I’m totally with you. Patience is not my strong suit. I don’t understand why they couldn’t have released all decisions at once. This system is way more stressful than all the other colleges that I’ve applied and heard back from.

@premed98 Neither is mine… I hate the idea of not knowing when it’ll come

Daughter waitlisted, received email at 11:08 am PST.
