University of San Diego 2022

How do you apply for honors college?

Has anyone gotten a letter in the mail or is it all portal so far?

@Caligirl24 I can guarantee you that putting that in your essay did not hurt your chances at all.

@EDHDAD thanks

@optimistic43 when did you receive it

hey! i got accepted a few days ago with an alcala scholarship and invitation to apply to the honors program; does anyone have info on either of these?

@rocknix on Feb 20th.

@optimistic43 if you don’t mind me asking, what were your stats?

USD is one of my safeties but I haven’t heard back yet. Anyone else in my situation?

@soccergirl2232 probably my top school for me but haven’t heard back i think more people will find out next week

They just tweeted, “decisions are starting to come out. Please keep your eyes on your portal and mail”. I am not sure if that means more will be released today or what but hopeful!

@kyky33345 what account did they tweet that from?

Usd admissions

@rocknix no problem SAT - 800 math / 690 verbal subject tests - 800 math 2/ 690 physics. 4.17ish gpa. Lots of extras - president of national honor society - volunteer work with hunger organizations/ church etc.

I just received the trustee scholarship. What’s the difference between that and the Alcala scholarship?

3.8 gpa, and 1170 sat, is this a reach for usd? lots of extra cur. and strong essay

@nm4017 no not a reach for you

GPA range: 3.66-4.16 ACT range: 26-30

@Soccergirl2232 so if my GPA is 3.8 and my AcT is 28 with extracur. and community service I have a good chance?

My D just turned down her acceptance today in hopes that it would open up a spot for someone else. Her merit aid was just not enough. She received much more from equally competitive and desirable schools. This was surprising given her strong apllication and stats. Maybe it is more competitive this year? After more research, she realized it did not have the curriculum she wanted. Nice to have her list narrowed down!
