University of San Diego 2022

I submitted mine the day it was due and got in on monday

Oh wow okay, I sent it in the day before it was due.

@channingc I literally almost have the same stats as you, but my ACT is 25.

I sent it in at the end of October. Mine says complete ready for review still. I think they must be doing most merit money to least first… just a guess I know some schools do that. I had a 25 ACT as well so we will probably find out later.

So did everyone who has been admitted so far gotten merit scholarship? Has anyone been accepted AFTER Monday, 2/19?

Have they released need based financial aid yet for people who have already been admitted? I can’t tell if it’s been released yet or if they decided I’m not eligible for any money. I also got merit money so that might’ve had an effect on need based aid.

when i called they said they would be sending out decisions everyday but has anyone gotten in after monday?

Admitted, received an invite to the Honors Program and Alcala Scholarship. Only my merit aid is displayed, is this all the money I will be receiving in aid from USD? Is there a chance to receive grants still?

@rocknix I haven’t, and I’ve checked everyday. I called too and they also said each week there would be more decisions released.

I got an email update yesterday telling me I was accepted with a video, if that helps anyone.

@channingc thank you!

Well according to the USD website, decisions roll out until April 1st, so at this point, it’s honestly just a waiting game.
And I have no idea what their process is or how it goes when it comes to deciding which ones to roll out first.

My d is in with alcala scholarship. She got an email with a video. Scholarship was under the financial aid tab.

Accepted with 25k in scholarship a year! But wondering if this is stacked on my expected family contribution or if it just means less federally funded aid…

@laurenshay18 Take the total cost of attendance and subtract the merit scholarship. Is that net cost higher than your efc? If it is then that difference between your net cost and your efc is the amount of potential grants, loans, and work study you may receive. For example, $65k COA minus $25k merit scholarship is a net cost of $40k. If your EFC is $20k then you may potentially receive $20k in grants, loans, and work study.

I haven’t heard yet but I had a question:in one of my essays I stated that I was not religious (here is the exact line: Although I am not Catholic, I have been raised on Catholic morals, my parents stressed (and so on)) Do you think that i ruined my chances by saying this? Has anyone been accepted who is not religious, and said so in their essay?

@Caligirl24 I certainly hope not! Catholic schools are generally very welcoming to all. Jesuits seem to be the most open-minded of the Catholic schools—of course all are different.

For those who have been admitted, anybody from east coast?

@ksquaredmom thanks, the reason I felt okay putting it in my essay was because when I went on a tour of the campus they said their campus had students of many different religions

Has anyone received a rejection yet?

Yes - from Massachusetts
