<p>I called up today to see if they would send out merit-based scholarships and they said it should have come with my acceptance. I dont want to sound bratty or anything but i felt like i deserved one. Chapman gave me a 20k one and then i just dont get anything from USD. Thats kind of strange?! I guess now im leaning more toward chapman, although i love USD. Hopefully USC is still in the equation though!!!</p>
<p>You can never tell why one student got a merit scholarship. Unless it’s a guaranteed cutoff based on SAT or ACT or GPA, there is going to be wiggle room.</p>
<p>One of the schools my son applied to he seemed to meet all the criteria, but they recalculated his weighted GPA differently than his school did for his academic subjects. Yet, they invited him for the Honors College. When he contacted the school to check into this discrepancy, they actually recalculated it - again - and in combination with his SAT and ACT scores, offered him a scholarship. I don’t know if they made a mistake or what, but it taught us that it can be very unpredictable. </p>
<p>My son applied to both schools and got a big scholarship from Chapman and not one from USD. I have known other students who got the reverse. It’s just how it goes.</p>

<p>Couldn’t agree more. I received 20k from Chapman, but only 10k from USD. Regardless, I’m really on the fence between Tulane and USD!</p>

<p>mere24- Yeah, I definitely agree with the multiple questions thing. I’m having trouble deciding between Maher and Missions A. I don’t like Missions B because of the community bathroom situation. I know that in Missions A you only have 7 other people on your floor and you share a bathroom with them, and I like that better. Maher seems nice because of the private bathrooms. It’s really hard to decide because all of the websites I’ve been on say that Missions A is the best, but everyone on the chat said that Maher is better.</p>

<p>I haven’t heard yet, I applied for early admission and they pushed it back to the regular admission. I hope I get in and I hope I hear from them soon. They told me to send my 1st semester grades and I did but they didn’t update my portal page.</p>

<p>momoman: Have D log into her USD portal. It should indicate if she was accepted if there is a tab next to “Announcements” and “Applicant” that says “Admitted”
At least, that’s how I found out about 1-2 weeks ago. My package and letter from USD came late last week.</p>
