University of San Diego TRANSFER CHANCES

So I went to community college in California for 3 years and am now applying to schools as an undergrad. My gpa is only a 3.0 ( English is completed, and I am currently taking college algebra.) and I am hoping to transfer into USD as a marketing or comm major. I have a few questions regarding my application. First off, both my parents attended USD in the 80’s and graduated with bachelor degrees. Does having parents as alumni increase my chances of acceptance at all?
and secondly, are there certain majors that are easier to get accepted as?
Lastly, I am Catholic and have a lot of community service hours from high school and college.
I also have a good letter of recommendation from one of my college professors.

All of these things added together, are my chances pretty high or does my gpa make my application weak? That is what I am most concerned about. Anyone that has transferred to USD in the past, what was your gpa and application like?? Any feedback is appreciated!!

They will look at GPA.

Community college work, at times, may not be as fast-paced as university work, so they will look at that GPA. The other information should help your application.
