Our son is applying this summer for Fall of 2018 along with seven other schools. Our daughter will be applying to 10 Physical Therapy schools at the same time. Not going to be a fun summer in our house!!!
Would like to have our son get a jump start on some of the application essays.
Can anyone send me U of SC’s application essay question(s)? Would greatly appreciate it!!! Any he can get off the to-do list would help tremendously.
Thanks!
On the regular application students were asked to, “Tell us something that you have not already told us in this application that will help us to better understand your potential for academic success as a college student.” The Honors College application involves a lot more work, including two essays, I think. I don’t know the prompts though.

My daughter is a junior at Saint Louis University, majoring in Occupational Therapy, and loves it. I don’t know if your daughter is looking there, but they also have a great PT program. Direct admit, I believe.
Here are the Honors College Prompts for this year (don’t know if they are going to be the same next year)
(500 words minimum, 1000 word maximum)
Prompt: Tell us about your engagement with your family, friends, school, community, and/or world. Are you a leader in any sense of the word? What have you accomplished and what do you hope to accomplish? Who are you as a person within a community?
(500 words minimum, 1000 word maximum) Currently 974 words
Prompt: Tell us about your intellectual life – What have you read? What do you read, watch, or listen to regularly or typically? What do you like to think about? What bothers you, intrigues you, or excites you? Who are you as a thinker, researcher, intellectual explorer?
These prompts were a monster for me to tackle. The essays seem really important for Honors College so its good to start early. I had to go through a lot of revisions to really nail all of the questions well and both of my essays ended up being over 900 words.
Thank you all for your help with the U of SC essay question. Hopefully, it is the same this year. Going to get our son started on SC’s and JMU’s soon.
How did you see JMU’s prompt? Or is it general? Thx.
Visited the campus back in the fall and had a niece who applied so she sent us the essay from this last year.
(Tell us more about yourself or any topic of your choice. What does the committee need to know about you that can’t be found in your application.? Be creative. - 500 words)
