I want to go into game design, and I want to go to the best school possible. After searching around, I've seen that they're both at the top. I'm currently a junior in the midwest, and I don't mind being far from home. My gpa is 3.8 and weighted it's 4.429 in case you're wondering.

Can you afford them?

I haven’t really looked into all that, but I do know that USC is much more expensive than the University of Utah. I’ll consider cost when I make my final decision later, but I want to know from people which school will get me a better education. I guess extra things to do at campuses can be factored in, but I’m not really concerned with campus aesthetics.

Have you run the NPC’s (net price calculators)?
What can your parents pay?
Because USC is more expensive than University of Utah, but it does provide financial aid, whereas U of Utah doesn’t (unless you have and ACT/SAT score that may make merit aid possible).

Wow. Utah vs. So Cal? Talk about a cultural divide.

Interesting. Not two colleges I’d ever expect to see in competition with each other except by Utah residents. Could be a good find by OP.

Not sure where OP comes from but University of Utah has a new scholarship which might be a tie breaker in certain circumstances.

I’m from Missouri. I brought the two universities up because of their game design programs seem to be the best

Aw Missouri isn’t on the list

Undergrads often change their minds about majors and career paths. You might want to consider where you’ll be happiest if you decide to shift your area of interest.
