University of Texas at Austin Class of 2023 Admissions

@juststaycool I have also applied for honors.

Very excited for all of the High School Seniors on this list that have received their major choices. Congratulations to you all! Equally excited for the parents who have been waiting as impatiently as their children in some circumstances (probably more impatiently in mine). Please continue to post as more notifications are sent as well as when Honors notifications start to roll out. We are still waiting on CNS Honors.

Son was admitted for UT Computer Science. Also applied to Honors. Yes was an auto-admit, instate, local austin high school, class rank 5/527, 3.87 UW, 10 AP classes, 3 UT OnRamp classes, etc. I don’t expect to hear about Honors till way later. I have a senior UT Honors ChemE plus business certificate (or now is called a minor) so I’m a seasoned UT Parent. I have to say - it’s nice to hear early as that is not how it was four years ago.

Got accepted to the McCombs School as a non-auto today! Waiting to hear back about the honors program. Has anyone else already gotten an interview for BHP?

Congrats to everyone admitted! However, I’m admittedly a bit concerned that I have not received anything yet. I’m an in state auto admit applying for electrical engineering. Top 1% out of 600+ class, National AP Scholar/ National Hispanic Scholar, 34 ACT 1510 SAT. Lots of ECs/ leadership positions, nothing spectacular but some of them engineering related, and great recommendation letter. I applied in September and friends from my school with lower stats who applied later have already gotten into their major, even into engineering. Not terribly concerned yet but wondering if anyone else is in the same boat.

Has anyone heard from Liberal Arts Honors yet?

Don’t stress out. There’s no rhyme or reason to these releases. My kid has similar stats to yours and hasn’t heard yet, either. My older child went through this a few years ago and it was the same deal–some uber qualified kids didn’t hear until a few weeks after some kids who were head scratchers (not that anyone here is a head scratcher, obviously). Congrats to all who have already heard, but there are many weeks of releases ahead and I don’t think that not being in the first group means anything other than you have to wait a little longer to hear.

that was for ad2000tx

@ad2000tx same boat except OOS, business, slightly higher test scores, and I applied in early October. Don’t worry! We can do it!

My child was accepted into Aerospace engineering yesterday (and P2 in previous wave). This process is totally different than previous years, and 1/3 of the decisions have been released. I am very happy that we found out early. Good luck to everyone still waiting! I also agree with other posters on here about the releases being somewhat random. I think honors applications drives some of the releases, but I do think it has to be random because I put my 3rd child in the category of ‘head scratcher’ as another poster aptly put. Hang in there!

@ad2000tx im in the exact same boat! im an instate AA who applied sept. 25, and i haven’t heard anything about my major (biology)

I know I’m over analyzing but one of the recommended forms is no longer visible on my daughter’s status page (scholarship interest form). This happened over the weekend. I wonder if that could mean something is happening with her admissions review. Just anxious for a decision like everyone else. Good luck to all!!

Some out of state applicants accepted already

@yoda13 Did she perhaps complete it already? If she did it may have moved down to the other section.

@Yoda13 same here. im not getting the feeling it means anything. its a sunday. feel like it was just the date set to automatically take the forms off.

@Yoda13 It disappeared from my sons too. My guess is there was a deadline that has past and now it is no longer listed as recommended.

did you all see the new freshman profile? OOS SAT used to be 1240-1460 and now its 1290-1460. this kinda changed my outlook.

No the scholarship forms aren’t due until February. I remember this from when my daughter started to fill this out in October and there were essays and I told her to just leave it because she was finishing her other applications.

It could just be them updating things because 12/1 was the last day to turn in applications and then 12/8 for certain materials, so perhaps they’re just updating the portal.

Yeah I just looked and it’s the TexasExes Scholarship Forms and it’s still there.

I think you’re referring to the other Scholarship thing that you submit when you apply which if I recall was just checking boxes if you qualified for certain things, but wasn’t the full on scholarships like the Texas Exes.
