Hi,
Does anyone know anything (negative or positive) about the University of the Arts Jazz program in Philly??? It seems to be the most diverse and well rounded program for a musician wanting to pursue graduate school. However, the lack of the name coming up much makes me weary on how accredited the school is.

As always anything or any point to the right direction is welcome!

I know that they have some pretty fantastic teachers there. I.e. - tony micelli, the best vibes player in the US and probably the world. (really no one would argue with that) And they have definitely had some successful graduates. I would look at the faculty and find out who is worth studying with. Then you could go for some lessons and see some performances to assess the level of their students. Their reputation is fast growing at present but certainly does not pack a punch like UNT or MSM (for now anyways).

thanks violincello! Im also interested in UNT, do you know anything about that program compared to uarts?..what makes it pack more of a punch. I already know about MSM and i’m not interested in a school like that or juilliard or NEC etc. I am considering purchase as well.

Thanks!
