<p>We recently spoke with a family whose son has ADHD and attended University of the Ozarks in Arkansas. They told us about the Jones Learning Center, which provided very intensive one-on-one supervision for their son, to the extent that they would check in with him every single day to make sure he was keeping up with all his assignments and responsibilities. On one hand, this certainly seems helpful because people with ADHD struggle with executive function. But on the other hand, with this level of supervision how are they ever going to learn to function autonomously?
Does anyone else here have firsthand experience with this program? We are considering going to visit with our son who has ADD. However, Arkansas is quite a distance from us (we are in the Washington DC area) and there are other schools which are closer and seem to have good disability services. Also according to the U of Ozarks website there is a very significant fee charged for this additional service.</p>
