Hello Everyone!

I'm a community college student unsure about my chances of getting into Smith College, Mt. Holyoke College and Hampshire College.

The Bad:
I went to a school in North Carolina right after high school and left with a GPA of 0.96. I suffered from depression, was hospitalized and ended up being a victim of a pretty bad hate crime.

The Good:
Right now, I have a 3.87 GPA and I'm an active member of Phi Theta Kappa at my school. I am also involved with our SIFE Team here at the school. I've had a job each semester I've been in school. Last year, I was treasurer for our Gay-Straight Alliance on campus. I'm also very active with political organizations in the area. I produced and led a benefit and bracelet campaign for Haiti this past March. I did an internship last year with a homeless shelter/refugee program in the city. I'm a musician and play in the campus band in addition to performing around the area. My intended major is Economics with a minor/double major in Film/Music (depending on which school I choose)

...I guess I should mention this because it might matter..I'm also a minority.

Just wondering what people on here thought my chances would be of getting into any of these schools.

Feel free to offer any responses, suggestions or comments.

thanks!
