Unusual Grade Trend

Hey all,

Confused about my trend and if it'll affect admissions.

Here's the lowdown,

So...that's the deal...I've been busting my butt off this yera, but it doesn't seem to do me any good b/c the teachers play favorites...and if yo uaren't them, they give you worse grades (i've complained to the school board about it..they dont give lol.) Is this giong to impact my admissions much from what will be on my report halfway through the year? Just curious b/c idk if they are as tough on vocal majors (since you audition and that counts a lot too) as they are for let's say engineers. Thanks!!!

p.s. By saying the classes are AP level, that means they are either AP weighted and are as hard as AP classes or they ARE actually college classes in hih school, making them pretty much like AP...so in essence, it's as if i am taking all AP for the most part lol.

What does Trig at the "AP level" entail?

An hour at the least of homework nearly every night, college level textbook, college level tests...HARD work...good thign i opted out of this class (at our school when ur a senior, u can "opt out" or have a class just not count towards ur gpa...whichis what i did with that lol.)

It doesn't seem like an unusual grade trend to me.

Senior year is the hardest year if you choose to be brave and take a full honors/AP schedule rather than succomb to the temptation of signing up for a bunch of blow-off classes. I've been on the honors track all throughout high school, and as a senior I've found that I have more B's than I've ever had in my life because, simply put, the courses are incredibly demanding.

With the exception of one or two people - the "natural learners" of the bunch - all of my classmates are experiencing a slight drop in their grades as well. It suddenly isn't so easy to keep straight A's.

I wouldn't worry about it. Northwestern is not going to reject a vocal performance major - if he is musically up to par - because he got a B+ in AP Physics. :)
