Unweighted or Weighted?

I feel as if my unweighted is going to end up being the thing that stops me from getting into USC. I have a 4.0 weighted and a 3.5 unweighted. I do not understand how USC can punish someone for killing themselves with APs and Honors classes and getting Bs in some of them when others are getting easy A's in other regular classes. What do you guys think? I am just venting.

Does USC not weigh?? I’m 3.76 unweighted but all my classes are IB so I was hoping they would weigh it…

They do, I just have the feeling they look at unweighted more. Some schools don’t even offer weighted classes.

I am unweighted 3.5 and proud of that GPA. You shine, don’t worry about it. :D

My son is 3.98UW and 4.69W and he’s not in either. Even though there might be a slight chance still…we are trying to move past USC.

azmom, his SAT must be horrible if he doesn’t get in. Mine is a 2000 what is his?

He has a 2130 SAT - got 780 on Math and is trying for Viterbi. I really did not think he would have a problem getting in USC, so I’ve been frantic this week.

He should have no problem. If he does, appeal.

I’m a 3.7/4.0 uw/w, and I was accepted. I had two Cs first semester last year, as well, and then at least one B every other semester except for a few here and there.
