Recs/Essays:
My mentor professor and my AP Biology teacher will be writing them. The mentor's rec should be superb and the teacher rec should be pretty good.

I'm an above average essay writer so I guess my essays will be pretty good.

I'll take a shot for you, mind you I'm not so familiar with specific programs at these schools, mainly the schools themselves. If that makes any sense.

Im interested to do some research on these programs b/c I do not understand why people are saying some things are reaches when they should not be.

I would legitimately say that you'd have a moderate reach at MIT so I dont know why you'd be a reach at Boston U or Penn State. So I'll have to do some research on that.

In the research, I am to be one of the co-authors with several other doctors.

For the volunteer work, I can get something official to send along (maybe something from the chair of the organization?) to verify I have actually done these hours.

Maybe some more chances/suggestions on what to do next?

I do know that I'm top 5%, but not sure of my exact rank. My graduating class is 660ish so I'm guessing I'm top 20. In terms of competitiveness, I'd consider my school to be pretty good. We send a bunch to Cal/LA and a couple each year to Ivies/Stanford.
