my situation is i won’t get any fin aid from UPenn. I also want to apply for pre-med guarantee program from public school with scholarship.both are hard to get in. I was told ED has big chance to get accept. based on what you said, i can give up UPenn with fin aid reason, right?

Yes. If the fin aid isn’t good enough you can back out the contract.

Thanks for clarification.

Yay me too

I’m applying Wharton ED!
Aren’t there 2 supplements? I think I saw someone say that there was only 1.

^There’s only one this year. However, you will have to do two if you’re applying to a coordinated dual-degree program.

^ Oh I see, one supplement, like short answer, and one essay right?

Is penn still generous with aid even with early decision applicants?

^ Yes, but if the FA package isn’t adequate, you can always decline an ED acceptance (or first see if they’ll increase the aid amount).

One essay (common app), and one short answer for Penn

^But on the Fall 2013 application there’s an essay?

^ Yes, in the 2013 Penn Supplement, there’s a 400-650 word essay:

[Essays - Freshmen Applicants - Penn Admissions](http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/apply/freshman-admission/essays)

Plus, there are additional essays for the coordinated dual-degree programs.

We’re fall 2014 guys
Last year there was an additional Ben Franklin essay

Im also in the same situation. I’m thinking about applying ED to wharton but I’m not going to get any finaid, which would mean that I can’t afford it, so I don’t know what to do. Any suggestions other than outside scholarships?

@roxy481 Oh, now I see. Thanks for clarifying that!

^ But there’s still an essay in the Penn Supplement for Fall 2014 entry (Class of 2018), unless you think of 400-650 words as a short answer. :)

Ok so basically, there is ONE supplemental ESSAY. And no supplemental short answer. Correct?
That was a tad confusing :)

^ sorry now I’m confused. Aren’t you just referring to the Why Penn essay? There’s two essays total including the common app right? o.o

Also, just to clarify, applying for financial aid will not hurt my chances of getting accepted right? Because in last year’s results thread a couple of people were like “applying for financial aid was the worst mistake ever etc etc.” I always thought Penn was need-blind? Kinda confused lol

^Financial aid only affects your admissions chances if you’re an international student. If you’re from the US (Canada and Mexico may count too, but you’d have to fact check me on that) Penn is completely need-blind during the admissions process.

Any feedback for my situation?
