Nooo, I reported them on the commonapp but that’s all. Most people say it’s not necessary to until you’re accepted

Sorry to bring this FA email stuff back up again, but I just received an email saying that they received all my financial aid documents (even though I am a non-FA candidate and already got the email in november). Did everyone/everyone’s parents get this email (whoever correctly and completely submitted the FA)?

@unluckygirl2233 we have practically the same college list hahaha

I’m waiting for Penn’s email to come out before submitting the rest of my RD stuff… I really hope that I don’t have to though.

This was the e-mail I got from SFS, but I am from Canada and I didn’t have to submit CSS or the Penn supplement FA thingy. I had to e-mail in scans of all my forms and I got this in reply:

Thank you for submitting documents to SFS. This email confirms that we received your documents. Please allow five business days for us to process your information.
Note to financial aid applicants:

If you are a newly accepted student, once your financial aid evaluation is completed, we will post results on PennPlan online accessible through the Admissions Decisions.

If you are a currently enrolled student, please check your financial aid eligibility on PennInTouch.

What letter do your last names start with?

Funny how people who didn’t apply for financial aid got the email… This is strange.

I’m near the very end.

My last name starts with an O and I’m from Texas, so I guess I won’t be getting that email… I’m pretty sure if I were ever to get that email, I would have gotten it by now.

Ask your parents of they got the mail (my parents fwed it to me)

I checked my parents’ emails (inbox, spam, trash - all of it) and they didn’t get it either. D’:

whimper exhale

I think we all need to calm down. This probably doesn’t mean anything significant. People do get in without getting the e-mail. And people probably don’t get in after getting the e-mail. I don’t think at the end of the day it means too much. (But, the Penn Portal for FA on the sfs site goes live tomorrow. Would this mean that they’re pretty much done decisions?)

I haven’t had the opportunity to read through all 44 pages of this thread so I’m not sure whether this question has already been answered, but my PennPortal account initially showed processing delays due to the common app failure so I sent Penn an e-mail and called them to make sure again; they said that it shouldn’t be a cause of concern.

I subsequently haven’t received any e-mail from them saying that anything is missing.

But I started getting worried when the message that tells you that “the information will be available soon” disappeared. Now all that’s left is a small pop-up that says “we have sent out the first round of e-mails to applicants whose data is missing”

I wanted to know whether anybody else is facing the same problem or whether I’m the only one.

You guys, I still haven’t submitted the CSS profile. I didn’t get any mail.

And on the bright side, Committee isn’t done yet. So more people may be getting e-mails (if they do mean anything, which I doubt, at all)

@KarishmaSheth aren’t you from india?
I am from Nepal and submitted my CSS profile on the same day of my application. i.e. October 30th.

@mumford Yes but I’m a US citizen so I’m guessing the documents needed are different and I’ve submitted all except the profile

@wordsofwisdom: Yes, that is what shows up on my portal as well.

I don’t think you need to worry about it. I think this shows up for everybody.

A question to all International applicants, what are your safeties?

@absingha I’ve applied to the UK as my safety but in the US have USC, Tufts, and BU. any other suggestions?

@KarsishmaSeth then Upenn is need blind for all us citizens, you dont need to submit the CSS profile!
