I had my interview today…I’m having mixed feelings lol.

Have mine in a few hours!!! Strangely I’m not freaking out

My interview went really well. Does anyone know how significantly that affects your chances?

Not a whole lot honestly ^

Mine was awesome- turns out she went to the same HS, and overall I really liked talking to her

Hi roxy481, I will have mine today! What did you talk about? Should I prepare something? Thanks

Did you guys see the ED decisions are released December 16th at 5? Also, the number of ED applications is a record high 5,133.

Hey guys I live in Vancouver Canada, If I still have not gotten an interview does this mean my chances of getting accepted is is really slim??

Also, anyone got their applicant portal username?

zcc: when you and everyone else hit the “submit” button, your chances were slim.

An interview or non-interview is no indication whatsoever – not in the slightest- – nothing – nada – of your eventual acceptance or rejection. Got it?

Interview-
She asked the usual questions:
Tell me about yourself
What do you do in school/ outside of school
If you could meet 1 person in history, who would it be
Where do you see yourself in x years
Why penn
Why wharton (or whatever)
And do you have any q for me

My interview went splendid. My interviewer said I really knew what I wanted and she thought UPenn and the Huntsman Program was the perfect fit for me. She also liked UPenn for basically the same reasons as I did. She said she was going to write me a great recommendation.

Stats
SAT:2200 (CR:680 Math: 730 Writing:790)
SAT 2’s Math 2: 720 (Only took it once cause I was busy) U.S. History: 750 French w/ Listening: Took it November 2nd but I feel like I got an 800 it wasn’t hard really.
AP French: 5
AP World History: 4
AP English Language and Composition: 5
AP U.S. History: 5
AP Human Geography: 5
Right now I’m taking AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Literature, AP Gov, and am self-studying AP Micro and Macroeconomics (Don’t know if I should take the exam or not)

I am Vice President of Model UN in my school (I have won several awards so far)
I am Head Lawyer for the Prosecution for Mock Trial
I have been volunteering since the summer of 2012 and still am at a Math Center. I tutor there and am the only high school student. I probably do around 20 hours a week. So, thus far for tutoring I have 200+ (or even 300+) hours.
I also was part of the Student Environmental Action Society group. It’s immense community service. I was Head of the Recycling Commitee freshman and sophomore year. So that alone is around 200+ hours.
So, in community service in general I have 500+ hours.

I have a strong international background- I was born in Cameroon and raised in Cameroon for 13 years and only came to the U.S. in 2010 for high school purposes.

I feel like my essays were very strong especially my Wharton and Huntsman Program ones as I really specified what I wanted to do and how the curriculum would help me attain my goals: To create a micro-financial institution which gives out small loans to owners of these informal sectors in the aim of bolstering them and one day turning them formal and therefore prosperous AND overall contribute in making a change in sub-Saharan Africa with the ultimate goal of making it an economically prosperous region.

My teacher recommendations must have been stupendous because the two teachers I asked (AP World and AP Comp) absolutely love me and the additional one by the Director of the Math Center I tutor in really galvanizes my character (maybe galvanizes isn’t the right word to describe it haha).

I’m applying to UPenn specifically for the Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business (that or nothing basically).

Realllly hoping I get in as it is really my dream school.

Oh yeah, one of my elder sisters attended the Huntsman Program (Class of 2011)

Haha I feel you @SSPennSAS

So chance ?

Hey guys! Just joining in; applying ED as an International Relations major.

Is there a way to report changes/updates to your submitted application? I went to an MUN conference a week ago and got Best Delegate and a research award. I’d like to add that on to my list of awards… is that possible? Can I just contact admissions, or?

@vivendium Yeah just call the admissions office. I did that when there was an error in the scores I was submitting.

Awesome bkkacyem I’m assuming your an URM. How is your GPA? And thats awesome for the micro-financing. Have you done any micro-financing yet?

Hey friends! Applied ED to CAS… less than a month till we find out im getting kinda nervous

Hi! Has anyone else noticed that their Penn Portal isn’t updated at all? Mine only says that due to processing delays with Common App it might take a while. I did get an interview but do you think this is a point of concern? Thanks! :)

"I did get an interview but do you think this is a point of concern? " No. Let it lie.
