@Kobe123358 Haha yeah I am a URM especially in my town. The GPA I reported is the one I got straight after my junior year which is roughly 100 (so 4.0). I’m learning microeconomics and macroeconomics at the moment. The extent of micro finance I’ve done is help my dad often with the insurance company finances he’s genral director of in Cameroon and I’ve helped quite a bit with the financing of the place I tutor in since I’m pretty close to the Director of the center.

bkkayem: if you aren’t a US citizen or Permanent Resident, you won’t be considered an URM for admissions purposes. Still, congrats on your very strong academic performance to date.

@T26e4 Oh alright. Thanks for clarifying. And thank you it means a lot.

Hi guys!

I’m new to the thread. One month until we get our results!

Anybody else here apply ED for SEAS this year?

Me @SPQR19

So exciting :D

Me too @SPQR19 I’m pretty nervous about the decision, but at least we’ll know in less than a month!

I dunno. I’ve just kinda accepted the fact that it is going to be what it is going to be. I just had my interview so there is literally nothing more I can do. Though I am feeling really good about an acceptance. I’m hoping for at least a Deferral though.

Early Decision Release: December 16, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. EST

Does this mean they will email the results at that time? Or they will show up on the portal?

Do they mail anything?

@SPQR19 I applied ed M&T program with computer-engineering as my intended major. I also applied ED to SEAS as my second choice. (Because of the selectivity of the M&T program, applicants are allowed to select SEAS or Wharton as a second choice)

If they do it as they have the last several years, you’ll be able to log in starting at 5 PM on December 16th (or whatever time and date they ultimately release decisions, if that changes) on this page to obtain your decision:

https://www.admissions.upenn.edu/decisions/mydecision.php

You should receive an email confirming the time, date, and link when it gets closer to decision time.

I understand this was posted before somewhere but I need to express my concern/worry. 11 students from my school have applied ED Penn (all boys might I add-not sure if that means anything haha) and that alone is getting me anxious-them being smart, with a lot of ec activities, leadership, etc. I also have that going for me but they have “more?”…anyway most of them have gotten interviews while I haven’t…is that normal/a sign/ just completely random- I know Penn gives random alumni interviews but I’m pretty sure most of them got one…

I’m just overly anxious/paranoid/worried!

dwd: 3 things for you

1) applicants who are interviewed are rejected at the same rate (88.7%) like everyone else
2) interview assignments ARE random
3) YES you are overly paranoid

anyone recruited for writing?

My D got a email from KWH saying they r letting admissions know that she has been in contact and if admitted they hope she becomes part of their community/- see Kelly Writers House thread.

Thank you…I think :)

Is anyone’s admissions portal down? I can’t access the page. It tells me that there is a error in processing my request. Try refreshing my browser.

(I know there’s nothing there yet. Mine still says common app problems. But, I am still worried)

Mine is down too!
I’ve been freaking out since I’ve been unable to access it for a few days, and refreshing my browser doesn’t seem to help. :/

Try restarting your computer instead of just refreshing. Also, close all the windows of your browser and then try again. That’s worked for me.

I sent Upenn an outside recommendaiton letter through the mail and didn’t include my common application number… i only included my name and the school i am applying to… will they get the letter or should i fax the letter right now with the letter head?

Are these “recruitment” emails from KWH targeted towards English majors? Or like based on the writing abilities shown in the essays?
