UPenn Class of 2025 Waitlist

Again, I would encourage everyone not to worry about the number of waitlisted applicants because it is totally out of our control and if you’re waitlisted (unless due to legacy or connections which is also kind of shady because we never know) you fit the requirements and they would accept you if you can. And we have done what we could’ve done (send updates and LOCI) so all we can do right now is to stay positive.

In other words, it shouldn’t matter if 2500 people are waitlisted or if 2000 people is waitlisted(there would be a difference if only 200 people are waitlisted but we all know it’s not going to happen), it only matter if you are waitlisted because admission is never by probability but instead by capability (ex. The acceptance rate of 5% doesn’t mean that your chance is also 5%).

Thanks for all the information guys! As a new user, this thread has already been very helpful. I’ve sent an LOCI, and have just called the AO once or twice. Is there anything else that anybody has done? Or that anybody recommends I do? I feel like this is enough from my side

Does anyone remember what the waitlist faq said when they first looked at it? I remembered it saying that decisions will be released on a rolling basis throughout May and June (I’m not 100% sure though) but now the faq pdf says that they’ll review decisions in May and release decisions in June.

This is what my FAQ linked doc says right now. I just clicked it from my Decision Letter

I think you are good. If something significant comes up, you should feel free to update them.

So, decisions will come out in June only at the earliest according to this?

No… it says that decisions will come out on a Rolling Basis through June.

That means a continuous process of WL decisions starting in May and all the way through June. (TBH…probably through July) until they meet their enrollment number.

They may fill all the gaps they have by the end of May or they might not. But they will keep adding people from the waitlist until they are full and this usually takes from May through June.

I think they try to let everyone know their status-- Yes or No-- by the end of June just so we can get on with our lives LOL!

No, I don’t have any updates as such. What did you all do?

What I meant was that it previously had said that decisions will come out in May and June but now it’s saying that it’ll come out in June. So was it just my memory error and it had always been this way or did they do a update as they figured something out (for ex. They have higher yield rates?).

Again this is all personal guessing, don’t take me too seriously, I’m just too stressed by waiting.

brown has admitted it’s first wave… there is hope PEOPLE

We didn’t do anything, it was in the decision letter. You can also search it up online “Penn waitlist faq”.

ahahahaha fellow cornell penn waitlistee

I put a screen shot from my FAQ from Decision Letter, in post above. Mine still says decisions from May-June with final decisions by end of June.

It says they’ll view in May and release decision in June but before they said release decision in May and June so I was just wondering if it meant something but the screenshot that you posted is the newest one, I can’t find the old one anymore so I’m questioning if it had always said this or has it changed (the formatting of the pdf like the font has definitely changed).

I am pretty sure it always said “through June” encompassing both months May and June. Maybe I’m wrong.

I think it’s the same. It says they are starting review in May and will do “rolling” admits through June. ( I take that to mean rolling admits anytime between when they start the WL review in May and will continue through June.

I think I downloaded the PDF on April 6, so I maybe can compare, but maybe I didn’t save it :weary:—got to look through my docs.

I think we’re really overanalyzing at this point but this is because we received literally no information from Penn. God, please send something! I can’t wait anymore!!
