What’s the point of applying without aid if you can’t afford it anyway?
@Palak786 There are like 8 million dollar fund for international students this year. I am sure they will select qualified international students even though if they have asked for financial aid. There would have been no point of setting up such a hefty fund if they didn’t want to give any aid to international students.
Penn is need-blind for Canada and a couple of other countries. For the rest, it is need-aware. They do have large fund for international students, however, it is still limited… If you are truly exceptional and they want you badly. They will give you FA. If you are on the borderline and are competing with other students with no FA need. You are in a disadvantage.
Does anyone know if Penn sends likely letters?

Athletes can get them in the early decision round. Nobody else gets likely letters for ED.

Yup but as someone else said we can’t really control anything and decisions will come out when they come out! I’m really excited to see what happens though. I also wanted to share a piece of advice with everybody here: no matter what happens it’s a win win situation becasue if we get in, GREAT! But if we don’t, there are so many other opportunities out there that open up if we don’t get into penn!
