@Karishma. My e-mail at least made it very clear that the e-mailer was going to be my interviewer.

Does anyone know if there are any international interviews? I live in Mexico and assume there’s at least a couple of Penn alum’s here…

My child submitted his ED on 10/27, received the password to the personal account on 10/28, but haven’t heard anything about interview yet. We live only 1-hour away from Penn, with tons of alumni in our area. Don’t know why nobody contacted us

Don’t be thrown off by interviewers. Bring your A-game to the interview, be personable, open and honest.

I’ve heard several stories about interviews from some Penn students - you may get a very professional interviewer or an absent minded “Einstein” professor type, a guy in a suit and tie or a guy in street clothes and everything in between.

Just be yourself no matter what you get and don’t judge a book by its cover - they all seem to be very astute and intelligent regardless of their external presentation.

I’m in the same situation. I submitted 10/27, got my Penn Portal two days later, and received an email from the financial aid office stating that they have all my financial aid application materials. However, I haven’t heard from an interviewer yet. It’s kind of stressful because all my friends are interviewing and I live near two big cities with plenty of alumni! Does this happen often?

Has anyone in the Los Angeles area been contacted for an interview yet?

i’m from the orange county/LA area and i was contacted on saturday!

Just finished my interview. I thought it went pretty well. He was a CEO and graduated from wharton. I was nervous at first but he bluntly stated, " Don’t be stressed out at all. This is just for me to get to know you. I’m not a part of any committee. I do this just to give back to Penn." So to all of you who still have to take an interview, don’t be stressed out. Just dress casually. Good luck :)

I’m from Los Angeles. I got an interview request today after submitting my application two weeks ago.

@gpakistan
The interviewer contacts you by email,

I just got the mail yesterday
interview scheduled for this weekend!

I was actually contacted via phone. I never got an email.

Finally got contacted for an interview! Going to be on Saturday

I got contacted for an interview just today too! Applied Oct 20 and contacted Nov 12th. My interview is next Saturday, Nov 23rd! Best of luck to all of you interviewing. Those who haven’t been contacted - rest assured that you will be :)

Just got contacted for an interview, doing it over Skype this Sunday! I live in northern WI so yeah, no Penn alumni anywhere near me :P

Hey I submitted ages ago, but recently got an email saying that penn has got my app. I still havent got an interview, is that bad? :/

No. We’ve been over this a billion times now. Not everyone gets an interview; not getting one is not a disadvantage to you.

I am so relieved. My interview went off without a hitch. My interviewer and I really hit it off. Strangely enough I thought we’d bond over politics, but it turned out to be over biking. We’re both avid bikers and I mentioned my bike invention and we really hit it off after that. She only asked like 3 questions though, but the interview lasted about 50 minutes. It was really comfortable and not nerve-wracking at all. After the interview was over, she even asked me to recommend a few movies for her weekend.

Basically, I thought it went pretty well. The interview lasted for about 50-55 minutes. We have a lot of similar perspective on things, which was really good.

As for advice, I would honestly say be yourself and you will really bond with your interviewer and it’ll go well. And it really isn’t that intimidating; the interviewer is nice and really wants you to succeed.

can anyone shed any light on interviews for international students? Thanks

@ovrseasmom. Read my post above yours. I am from Canada. (Would that count as International?)

I think that interviews are basically the same for everyone. You just have a lower chance of getting an interview if you’re international because the alumni base in your hometown is likely to be either small or non-existent.

thanks Harrovian, any other internationals from farther away been contacted for interview at all?

Good luck to you all
