Upenn help

My dream school is UPenn and I'm applying ED this fall. I took the ACT and got a 24 composite score and I just got my results from my last ACT and I got a 23 composite score. :'( I feel like crying… Do I even have a chance?

Not with that ACT. Did/Can you try the SAT?

I got a 1660 the 1st time I took it and I’m taking it in october @guineagirl96‌

What is your GPA? Do you have some incredible hook or fantastic ECs?

Why is UPenn your dream school? I hope you have more realistic options on your list.

The 25th percentile at UPenn is a 30 or 2050, 75th is 34 or 2320. Your score is going to have to improve significantly to have a chance. 82% have scores in the 30s

3.45 uw gap. I have many extracurricular activities and I’m a URM and first generation. I do have more realistic options on my list, Penn is one of my only reaches. I visited and met with the admission reader in my region. I know I don’t have the stats to get into Penn but it doesn’t hurt to try…

i also have a lot of AP, honors/ a ccl. classes

I have really bad test anxiety also…

“Nothing beats a failure but a try”. Your scores are really on the low end. Even being a URM will not help here because there are plenty with higher scores. However, you mentioned you have test anxiety. If this is something that is known in your school, maybe your GC can address this in their report. Also, if you have other things in your favor: ECs, great essay, community service, etc., I would focus on that. You may want to talk about your test anxiety somewhere in your essay and how you have overcome it or worked around it.

Other than that, if you don’t mind the price of the application, I would go for it. You already know it is a definite reach, so if the outcome is not an acceptance, you will not be too surprised. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion, I definitely will let my college counselor know…this sucks :((((((
