I am from China. One of my students (A Upenn undergraduate ED applicant) finally received an alumni interview three days ago after waiting for a long time. And the alumni interviewer asked my student to communicate with him just via skype instead of face to face. And during the process the interview seemed to be not very talkative. So is it possible that Upenn will ask an alumni interviewer to conduct the interview via skype? And if so, what did this late skype interview imply? Will it mean that the decision had already been made before the interview and this student had little chance of being admitted?

Please help to throw light on this. Thanks.

okay, so, apparantly from other thread, interview isn’t important for Penn. The purpose of interview is to give the applicant a better understanding of Penn as a whole. The decisions were already made 3 days ago, so I guess you don’t need to worry about it.

btw, i’m a chinese immigrant came to canada 3 years ago :)

The student claimed that this Upenn interviewer didn’t seem to be very familiar and passionate about Upenn. And she just emailed the student to conduct the interview online via skype. And almost all of the other students from China have already finished doing the interviews at this later period. So can anyone confirm with me that Upenn really allows their alumni to conduct the interview online at such a later date?

the decision comes out today, we’ll see

What as the result?
