I'm a white male from southern California. Here are my stats
STATS: 2090 SAT(720cr, 650m,720w) SAT2's (no score higher than 630 yet on a test, im a bad test taker) 3.3 unweighted GPA, 4.1 Weighted GPA, Full AP courseload, FULL IB DIPLOMA candidate, 2 years ASB Leadership, 3 years basketball, boys state 2008, etc...

I just want to get a degree in most likely Economics, so Im not worried about going to wharton above just getting a simple degree. I know i have a shot at both, but i heard cornell's acceptance rates are higher. I'm not sure whether Upenn or Cornell is better for a degree in Econ IN TERMS OF ME GETTING IN.

Any advice?

Thanks
Jayden Eick, Sunny Hills High School

RD acceptance rates, Cornell vs. Penn : 20.67% vs. 16.95%
ED acceptance rates, Cornell vs. Penn : 37.0% vs. 29.3%
So you definitely have a better chance in getting into Cornell under ED.

I don't really suggest to you put your personal info out here i.e. your real name and school.
Btw, I'm also in FJUHSD.

For Cornell would you be applying to the College of Arts & Sciences (the home of the standard liberal arts economics program) or the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (the home of AEM, applied economics and management, Cornell's version of a business program)?

Millhouse,
Oops! that is the overall acceptance rate for Penn. Thanks for your correcting =)
Sorry, I was thinking about the overall acceptance rates. Both of RD rates for Penn are Cornell are overall accpetance rates, NOT RD acceptance rates. I'm really sorry about that.

haha the first time i read your post it sounded like you were sorry about making a mistake and that it is a rarity in your life... but really proportionally between penn and cornell, the penn acceptances are lower (i guess thats really all that matters in this thread because its a comparison)

Millhouse, certainly not. I make a lot of mistakes, most of which are the very stupid ones. -_-b
That's why I can't manage an 800 on SAT math section =(

I wouldnt expect acceptance at either but Cornell would be a much better bet. Remember in ED your are applying with all the legacies and since your stats dont really stand out they wouldnt have much reason to take you

Cornell's CAS overall acceptance rate is 18.35% and RD around 14%, percent in top decile of class is 94%. It appears to be a bit higher than UPenn, slightly easier to get in.
