@summerhazed Most transfers are pretty lateral to say the least, and many crave the academic culture and environment Chicago promotes vs the preprofessional focus of some unis. That’s why I applied ED.
UPenn the only reason I applied was b/c cogsci here is focused on theory vs application + I visited and liked it (Ramen house nearby)
Yeah that’s why I decided to withdraw my application to Chicago. The preprofessional nature of Penn definitely interests me, and while I do appreciate an academic focus, I need a more practical education than a theoretical one. So I probably won’t transfer to Chicago, but rather another top school if I need to.
Just submitted my application! I really wish I had started a little bit earlier, as my Why Penn essay isn’t as well-written or eloquent as I had hoped. However, despite its imperfections, I’m still proud of it, as it does answer the prompt well enough. Good luck to everyone else, and hopefully I’ll see you at Quaker Days in a few months!!!
Applied to Wharton. I was gonna do SEAS but I realized the differences in acceptance rate is probably marginal and Wharton is too valuable to not try for. My main concentration would be Environmental Policy and Management… good luck everyone! I was rejected to Stanford and deferred from Michigan. But I’m staying hopeful and trusting in the process.
I’m applying to CAS too! I had my interview yesterday and it went very well. I’m worried though because my friend applied to Penn and her application is VERY similar to mine and she doesn’t even want to go there haha
