@MaybeHarvard2022 I don’t know why but I had a feeling it was related to Politics.
You’re welcome!
How many are you waiting to hear back from (no likely letters or notifications of sort)?
I hope it continuesss…

Here’s a countdown clock for those anxiously waiting for Ivy decisions: http://■■■■■■■■■■/#ivyday_qsqhc
did people get the penn email in the promotional or primary folder?
@Lemonade22 primary, but you can adjust the settings
It’s all fine for 3 months but it’s these last 7 days that drive me insane
Wait do the last 3 hours…Extra-Crispy!
Have you guys visited the campus? I fell in love with it when I got there
Wish you all good luck! My DD was denied last December by Wharton and I remember that feeling was NOT good, she finally got accepted by WashU Olin last week and she is super excited although she knows Wharton ranked much higher than Olin. You all have done all you can do and you are great so be proud of yourself no matter what results come.
Good luck!
Yes, if you will. @LinusChang
guys do I have a chance to get into Wharton with 1540 SAT 800 SAT 2 Math, 760 Physics , 5/5 GPA , but I have not taken any APs since im international student and my country doesn’t offer APs (((
Of course you do. But given the bizarre surge in applications caused by US News and their dubious rankings, the Top 40 schools are seeing a large number of great students apply at more than 7 or 10 schools. This is made easier by Common App, which takes the effort out of applying. That means qualified students are getting passed on at Tier 2 schools like BU and even Northeastern. I saw one student post that she got into Cornell after getting turned down by Northeastern. The Top 40 colleges (subject to rankings) are under stress to make seats for qualified Ivy League-ready students, as they have grown very little in 30 years.
@Realmadrid12
Let me try to be as clear as possible:
Location matters!
Penn is aware of the fact that people from countries in the continent of Africa would be applying and people from developed countries/ continents such as Europe, America, Austria etc will be applying so they are aware of the opportunities available for you.
My country doesn’t offer APs or Honor classes or any additional classes aside from the electives which each student decides to take in High School (if you want to take APs, you need to take a gap year).
I believe Penn takes everything into consideration. They can’t judge you the exact same way they would judge someone who lives in America(for instance). American schools offer AP courses while some other educational systems don’t. If you had the opportunity to take/register for these courses while in school, I’m sure they would know you’ll jump at the opportunity (Penn looks for ambitious people, students ready to learn not only in the classroom but outside) but it’s not there.
If a student in America(or other very developed countries) is applying to Penn, they would expect that student to have taken AP’s/Honors/possibly registered at a college if they have the opportunity because there may be the opportunity to take it but if it’s not the norm in your country then it’s not your fault.
It’s just like how they are aware that students from developed and developing countries are applying.
They can’t expect someone from a developing country to have the same opportunities as someone from a developed country.
In my country for instance, the citizens/residents don’t expect most people to school abroad mainly because most of the population is poor ( those who do attend prestigious secondary schools/colleges may also not school abroad since the economic market crashed) so they don’t make efforts to help individuals who wish to school abroad especially America (also because most schools use the British based curriculum so the Secondary Schools are unaware of a lot of things done with the American education system).
If your country holds a lot of Competitions or Scholars programs (my country barely has any - I’ve done my research so I’m sure and the few which we could’ve done in my school, sometimes due to various reasons, my School doesn’t go) then Penn would want you to have tried for any.
For instance, in America there are various Scholar opportunities such as the USC Bovard Scholars, Questbridge, Coca-Cola Awards, Alexander Hamilton Scholars Program, , Gates Scholarship Program, some programs at universities (which would most likely be competitive to get into)…for a student who qualifies for these, the admissions board would want such a person but for int’l students who ofc may not have the opportunity, they can’t hold it against you(us). They’ll just have to consider other things in your application.
Finally, don’t forget that S.A.Ts are not the only factors to be considered. A student with a 1400 and a ton of competitive Awards both national and local against a student in that same country with a 1550 and no awards could stand a lower chance of admission.
Yes, Penn wants amazing and extremely smart people but they also want the class to be as diverse as possible. I know people who have gotten into prestigious schools from my country and some didn’t couldn’t take AP’s until after high school (during their gap years), some others had to take A-levels later but that wasn’t the case for all.
Keep this in mind! I made this as comprehensive as possible so you and anyone else wondering the same thing can get a clear picture.
Hope this helps!
For those who wrote/took AP courses or exams, where did y’all include it in your Application? :-/
@Ebbie1, Under the heading “Testing” and “AP Subject Tests”.
Thank you very much for detailed answer
I was really worried about my Aps
Thanks again you are awesome!
