UPenn vs. Barnard College

Hi! I’m a current junior and I’m researching schools to figure out where I want to ED to. I’m interested in public health policy, and like that both Penn and Barnard have a 5th year MPH. Penn has a global health major that I really like, but Barnard’s political science/international relations program also interests me. I know Penn isn’t highly ranked for public health, however. (Does ranking really matter?)

Something else that I’m concerned about is internship and research opportunities. I want to be able to have a life outside of school during the school year, so Barnard’s location is ideal. Would you say that it is similar for UPenn? (I don’t know much about Philly). Do a lot of Penn students have internships during the school year?

Contact the career centers and the MPH programs at each campus, and ask them where the MPH graduates are finding jobs after graduation.
