Can someone call the admissions office and ask them when they’ll send out the first wave?

I called them earlier and they didn’t say anything except the usual, they’re sending decisions on a rolling basis and they will notify applicants when they’re done
I don’t think they didn’t release any decisions, I bet they accepted people that aren’t on this thread

I think often these “hearsay” posts, which are not made directly by a person claiming to be off the wait list, are not credible.

They need to review the waitlist faster
My impression is that they likely don’t have many (if any) spots available. Yale, Harvard and Cornell have sent emails that waitlists are closed/closing. Hope for our applicant is dwindling.
Yale informed students immediately after May 1st that waitlist was closed. Cornell continues to make offers while they are also starting to send rejection letters. It’s interesting that Penn sent a letter inquiring about continued interest on May 11th but we have not heard of anyone getting off the waitlist as yet.

It is strange they sent the May 11th email.
My impression is that Cornell admits by college and there have not been large numbers of admits (although acknowledging it is a much larger school), Harvard admitted very few as did Yale. So, I can’t imagine there are that many Penn spots available. We are in NYC and know admits from the WL at the other ivies, but haven’t heard of any offers from the Penn wl, but we did hear of a lot of Penn admits during ED and RD.
It just feels that this year is very different than past years.

My D called them yesterday and they said that they are giving rolling admissions but no one on reddit or cc has mentioned a waitlist acceptance.

So have they confirmed themselves there’s been movement?
I think what they have said is that admissions were happening on a rolling basis, but the response seems artfully worded to make it ambiguous whether that has started already.

Going through previous Upenn common data sets, I expect them to accept around 40 to 50 students this year

Guys what is happening, I just called the AO, and they said that the office of undergraduate admissions is closed until Thursday. I think something is happening. Like they’re gonna accept some people by calling them so they don’t want the line to be busy
