UPenn's anthro department

So, I've been searching for information on any unique courses or methods used at UPenn's anthropology department...but the Penn website has been sparse and all the academic surveys written at Vault are by Wharton/English majors.

I'm in a bit of a fix this now because I can't effectively write about an anthro department that, despite being ranked sixth in the nation, doesn't present itself as something different.

By the by, this is for the required supplementary essay at UPenn. What makes Penn good for you etc? I'm really looking for anthro curriculum that crosses into others fields...so hopefully Penn's department does that but I'm not seeing anything noteworthy right now.

Well Penn as a school seems to encourage cross-disciplinary studies, moreso than other schools I looked at. That is to say, while you can major in anthropology and easily take other classes in the CAS, just as you can in other schools, it's also fairly easy to take courses in the other schools (i.e. Wharton, SEAS) so it really allows you to take advantage of the resources of the school, instead of being limited to one department. Is that something you're looking for?
