In fact Penn’s poli sci dept. can’t even compete with Ohio State’s. The faculty at Penn’s schools of Arts & Sciences are not uniformly excellent. Penn has some good anthro, english, french, econ, sociology & psychology professors, but many of Penn’s other humanities/social science faculty are second rate… Penn’s poli sci department is a perfect example of a crappy dept. Penn’s history dept isn’t as bad, but is certainly mediocre.

Why is this it's own topic? I think you're trying to make a reply.

And besides, this isn't true according to other people i've talked to. I'm sensing some resentment towards penn for some reason. Ohio state?

if you thouroughly researched Poli sci departments and undergrad programs you'd know this.

i judge a school by how far it takes you.

please show me your research, however.

Ritchie, you really need to get your facts straight. I was accepted at Wharton, but had seriously considered majoring in history at the college. History is considered one of the best, if not the best, college departments at Penn. Political science is also a solid department. In case you were wondering about some of the well-known grads in these and related fields:
Sadie Tanner Alexander, Gloria Allred, Ernesto P. Balladares, Nicholas Biddle, William J. Brennan, Ron Brown, Noam Chomsky, Richard Clarke, Chaka Fattah, Harold E. Ford, Jr., Oscar Goodman, Charles Heimbold, Martin Luther King, Jr. (graduate), Joe Klein, Andrea Mitchell, Kwame Nkrumah, Alassane D. Ouattara, Ed Rendell, Owen J. Roberts, Arlen Specter. Top profs: Bruce Kuklick, Rogers Smith, Walter McDougall, John DiIulio, Jeremy Siegel.

Don't know of all these people? Maybe you should look them up. Seems like they've accomplished a lot.

i'd disagree, ohio states may have a lot of profs but i doubt its any better than penn's
