Full tuition scholarship to both. Little extra toward room and board for UPitt. Interested in a science field…likely on to medical school after.
Which would you choose and why?

Wow. Pitt was my dream school. You should be incredibly proud to have a full ride to both schools. I didn’t get anything from pitt and it was heartbreaking turning it down.
For sciences, Pitt is stronger. However, you will be just as successful if you take advantage of all of the opportunities at Fordham. Both are urban campuses and are similar in that aspect. What size school do you want? Pitt is a lot bigger and you will get more school spirit and big sports. Pitt is a big bar school and has a large social scene, but you can find your niche due to the size. Which is closer to home? How far away do you want to be from home?
@karlee2510 Thank you for the info. You’ve given me lots to think about.
The urban setting of both is appealing to me and I’m ok with either a smaller or larger school. Travel to both from home should be ok.
I am mostly wondering if there is any difference in the quality of program offerings, reputation, value add, etc. I think they are pretty much on par with each other, but I really don’t know for sure.
Thanks again!
Housing is pretty expensive at Fordham. Would add up over 4 years especially if you have to then fund med/grad school. My son’s not into sciences so I can’t help there, but look at both schools’ post-grad stats. Did you visit both and did one feel like more of a fit?
Thanks @TS0104 you are right, there is a pretty significant difference in housing costs between the two options…that’s good to keep in mind.
Visited each during the summer before senior year and attending admitted students day at both in the weeks ahead.
Just wondered if there is a general perception (good or bad) of either option that I should keep in mind.
Thanks again
