uploading pic for essay

the directions are "Please select a file to upload using the "Browse..." button below. If you experience difficulties, please contact technical support.

The file cannot exceed 250 KB in size and should be in .doc, .wpd, .rtf, .xls, .pdf, or .txt format. Also, please do not attempt to upload a document that is password-protected or that contains macros. This will cause the process to fail."

i can't seem to make the picture 250 KB; it's still too big. have you guys had this problem? what steps do you need to take to convert the picture so it's small enough to upload? thank you!

if you can upload a .doc document, did you try copy and pasting the picture onto a word document? i dont know what that would do to your document size-wise, but i can't imagine it being more than 250 KB

You can resize it in paint under "Image." Just edit the attributes of the picture. I think that's what I did.

it must be in bmp then. make it a jpg

sunkist- yeah, i tried copying into WordPerfect, and the current size is 1.38 MB even if i pull the arrows in the corners..hah. Maybe I'll try changing it into a pdf file.
xredcomet- when i tried changing the attributes, it doesn't maintain the proportions...it kind of cuts off the sides
namkim- it's in JPG right now, but the website says we can't use JPG format

=P ahh. oh well, i'll try loading it at school or something

in photoshop go to edit>>image size and then type in a smaller number, like 400 or something.

whats your picture of?

whoa it's albert! hahah
i'll try photoshop, thx.

it's a picture of a magical unicorn..jk

You're supposed to save the image in .jpg and then copy and paste it into word, I'm sure that's what namkim meant.

I had a picture that was bigger than half a page, saved in .jpg format and it's only 197 kb.
