<p>freshman year i had an 87 overall average. I think that translates to about a 3.2 gpa. This past year, junior year, i had a 3.9999 overall gpa or basically a 94 weighted average. Also, this past year i took AP US and Bio and received 4.0s weighted in both . The problem is that my final HS gpa will be about a 3.5. Will Cornell look beyond that and look at my application and see that I'm not a 3.5 student but rather a 3.9? My ecs are very strong and i started working in 8th grade. Sat= 1940. Letter of rec from a Phd at a medical school, in the process of submitting an article that i wrote with an undergrad to be peer reviewed and hopefully published in the Int. Journal of Oncology. I plan on applying to the Human Ecology school btw. And lastly, a strong legacy.</p>
<p>Well, legacy is going to help, but GPA & SAT scores are going to hurt. Other factors will be: 1) Did you take the most rigorous schedule offered at your school 2) What is your school’s track record of placing kids at competitive colleges 3) What is your class rank. After these factors, your essays will be critical.</p>
