URGENT Common App Question

It gives you enough characters for practically 3 pages of material, yet the Princeton supplement claims something like, "Along with.... the 500 word common app..."

And I've heard others say that 600-700 is fine. And one guy said, as long as the essay is awesome, even 1500 is fine.

Thus, word limits that range from 500-1500.

Or should it just cover a page that is 12 font, single space, 1" top, bottom, left, right?

I don't know what to think. Help?

how is this urgent?

First of all, are you applying online? Secondly, what part of the Princeton supplement is this?

If Princeton says they want a 500 word essay then that's what you want to shoot for...period. Verify it. http://www.princeton.edu/pr/admissions/u/appl/pdf/PU_0708_complete.pdf

The three essays are 150 words, 500 words and 300 words

If you go over a bit then no big deal. The topic will be precise enough that it will fit the word limit (min or max). Going over a lot...your rambling, going under a lot...your not detailed enough. Trust yourself.
