URGENT: Need explanation for MathIIC Baron's Question

"How many subsets does a set with n elements have?

A. n^2
B. 2^n
C. Large parenthesis, 2n over n, close large parenthesis
D. n
E. n!
"

I don't get this problem at all. There is an explanation but it isn't very clear, and the section that it points to for more in depth concept work has no mention of subsets/elements.

Can anyone explain this to me?
Thanks

I'm still looking for an answer after consulting my sister and a friend.

dude that seems ridiculous. There wont be anything like that that doesnt get thrown out
