URGENT: Robertson Scholarship vs. deferred Yale

AAAH! a huge congratulations to you! so you’re attending duke for sure?

CONGRATS!!!
Hopefully I will see you next year
I agree with all of the other posters, in this crazy college world, a guaranteed full-ride/summer abroad experience is so lusciously appealing that I do not think Yale could top it. ^^
[This is coming from a fellow Yale and Duke applicant]
I love both of them terribly, but for the same reason (full ride via NROTC at Duke vs probably 1/2 to 3/4 ride at Yale) I believe that I will attend Duke over my other schools.

GOOD LUCK AND FELICITATIONS!

Thanks warblersrule86! The Disney sing-along sounds awesome =D The more I look into Duke the more I realize how much I’m going to love it. National Basketball and the fact that it has its own forest means that I can always get my nature fix without leaving campus!

Tres Elefantes: yes I am! Go Blue Devils! Haha I find it funny that their teeshirts are white letters on dark blue like Yale. Plus, Go BD could mean Bull Dogs too =P

The only thing I’m unsure about now is whether to take my Theatre classes at Duke of UNC Chapel? Through Robertson I think I can take courses at either … which one is better Theatre?

I’m here late, but I see that you already made the decision I was going to recommend  haha robertson is amazing, duke is a great school, and to be brutally honest our (meaning you, me, and the rest of the deferrees) chances aren’t looking too good for yale (5 percent YIKES)

have a great time at duke and congrats!!

Yes, this is late, too, but a hearty congratulations! From a parent’s point of view, I know this is a huge gift. My D got the Moorhead-Cain at UNC but turned it down because she had already been accepted to Yale SCEA and we knew the financial aid package offered. If she had not already been accepted there would have been no choice. You will have a wonderful 4 years . . it’s such an honor!

I am confused. The finalist weekend/dinner/interview is April 10-12. How is it that you’ve been offered the Robertson for 2010 and have already done the “visit”?

Oh. . .I just saw that you are from the other hemisphere. That explains the earlier selection. Congrats to you. It’s an amazing opportunity. I am a finalist and am very, very excited about the possibility of joining the Robertson Scholars. It would be cool to catch up with you at Duke, but I won’t count my chickens before they hatch. May I ask what types of activities and/or questions came your way during the finalist process? Tell me about Julian Robertson. His story is amazing and his generosity is beyond belief!
