URGENT Supplement question!!!!

Hi all

I am an avid golfer and I put a lot of heart and work into my golf game, and I'd like to write about it for my supplements that ask about ECs, but I'm afraid that by association with golf, adcoms might see me as rich, pretentious, and all the other unpleasant adjectives that are associated with golf. I'm not the typical snobby golfer and I would work my short essay to make sure I did not come across as that, but I'm still afraid it will be an unnecessary risk. It would be my best topic in that I am most passionate about it and I'd write about what it teaches me and all... Anyway, I'd appreciate your input.

If you think it is too risky, I could write a less passionate essay about debate or community service or something along those lines, but it won't jump off the page like it needs to considering the schools I am applying to.

Thanks and have a great Christmas/ New Year

If golf is your passion then write about it. Just write about it from an angle that will be of interest to the admissions counselors. They get a lot of essays about sports. So maybe use golf as a metaphor for something deeper.
