So far, I have fantastic recommendations from 1 teacher and 1 club advisor. However, I need one more rec from an actual teacher.

I asked my AP gov teacher and she said yes, but the problem is although she said I'm a very bright student, im realizing that she probably doesnt know me closely enough to write an outstanding rec.

I want to ask an english teacher for the rec instead (my gov teacher has written it yet), but she is an extremely popular choice and asking her now is out of the question for jan 1 deadlines.

So my question is, can I send the rec from the one teacher and one club advisor as the 2 primary recommendations, and then send in a rec from my english teacher 2 weeks from the deadline as a supplementary rec? thanks in advance

Your teacher recs need to be from teachers who have taught you, not club advisors. Ask the English teacher now and let her know that it’s okay if her rec arrives after the deadline - as long as you have your application in one time, a delay of a week or two for a rec letter isn’t going to be a problem. It’s not ideal to ask at the last minute, but your club advisor does not meet the requirement if a school wants two teacher recs.

My teacher made me write a short personal essay, which she then used as the basis for her letter of recommendation. Don’t get anxiety diarrhea over your letters of recommendation.

Teachers know what they are doing. Your government teacher wouldn’t have agreed if she didn’t think she could write a good letter for you, and she would have asked for more information (i.e. a r
