I’m a resident of Virginia, so i’ll pay less for UVA, however, $ is not a big problem.
also, I want to study business/economics or maybe (very unlikely) psychology in college.
I like UVA’s McIntire school of commerce, but also like Michigan’s business school. But i dont like Michigan’s cold weather
i dont knopw about the ECHOL of UVA, i got the acceptance letter 2 weeks ago and it didnt mention I got the ECHOL thing. although i never filled out an applicztion for ECHOL, does it mean i’ll never be in ECHOL?
I havent replied to any of the 2 schools yet, i have several days to make a decision.

as a freshman you don't need to apply for echols, they automatically review you for it as they're doing admissions. if you didn't get an email about it or any other letters ('coz you shoulda been invited on a day on the lawn for echols scholars), then you probably were not picked this year. i am pretty sure you can apply for it as a sophomore/upperclassman, tho.

well, since you said money is not a big factor, I would go to michigan. Ross school of business is better and more reputable as far as recruiters go. If you plan to work on wall-street or the midwest, a business degree from ross will be highly regarded.

but if you want to save money and go to a school close to home, go to uva b/c it's a fine school in its own right and mcintire business school is no slouch either.

If money is not a issue, UMich has the edge over Uva.
UMich is very strong in all three fields you are interested in.
Ross is the top 3 undergraduate B-school,the psychology is the top 3 graduate programs, and the economics is among the best also.

What a wonderful dilema you are in, because you cannot go wrong whichever you choose.

I know you say money isn't a big issue, but UVa is such a fabulous value for the money if you're in state!! I'm a big Michigan booster on the boards, but in your shoes I'd be leaning towards that bargain and looking foward to beautiful, warm Charlottesville and UVa's smaller size and strong honor code.

HOWEVER, I think I can be very broadening to leave one's home state and home area. Another benefit to count towards Michigan is that it's somewhere very different.

Both universities are good. However, I would choose Michigan over UVA. If money were an issue, UVA would be best. However, because you said money isn't a problem, you should go with Michigan.

Both schools are excellent for your mention of economics or psychology. As for your interests now vs. later, you will be able to change your mind easily at both places. To have more $$ for grad school (i.e. MBA), I'd go with UVa. (And I'm a big UMich supporter!)
