UROP - Should I work for credit or work-study?

For credit it would be 3 credits per semester, for work-study it would be $9 an hour + 1 credit per semester.

I am leaning towards credit because I don’t need the money at the moment, but how will my hours be tracked for credit? My mentor told me that some of the research is done on site while some is done at home.

I also have a second work-study job so my work-study award may be all used up and UROP may not be able to pay me.

I am not sure what to choose.

If you don’t feel overwhelmed, and your first tests are coming out ok…take the research credits and keep your other job. If you find you’re already spread too thin and your performance isn’t what you’d hoped…you might need to prioritize a little…in which case, using your research as your paid job might be a smarter bet.
