US Colleges GPA of all years after graduatation?

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this site and wanted to greet you all.
I'm from europe and plan to study in the us after graduation from high school and doing a year in between (we have to do that where i live...).

Here in europe most colleges just look at your senior year grades and a-levels and since I was pretty bored in classes all through high school I do not have the GPA I would like to have for every year (between 1.5 and 2.0 european system - that is you sum up all the grades and divide it by the number of courses, which are around 14 ever year for me).

So never having really put much though in my grades except this year (which is my senior year) I have lots of Bs in there and even some Cs and 1 or 2 Ds throughout the years.

I expect to get mostly As this year, which would almost guarantee me a place in some of the leading universities in europe (well ofc there would be other things to do good essays etc. but the first thing they check is senior year grades and ONLY senior year grades and admission tests).

So I'm wondering wheter US colleges really put that much consideration into grades you received 4 or 5 years ago and wheter I stand a chance getting into good US universities (I was considering Wesleyan and CMC because of PPE) with those grades.

TIA

US colleges look at high school grades for all 4 years. They also look at trends. Like trends upward, not downward. So the better grades you have in senior year will help, but your overall GPA may not look so good as compared to what the schools publish as theiry 50% admit range? Hope this helps.

Thank you!
I suppose I will just apply to both universities in the UK (Durham, York) and some US universities and will see where I get accepted.
