Excluding the narrowly focused tech schools, the most selective undergraduate institutions were Harvard, Yale , Princeton and Amherst. The northeast seems to be the place.

it's always been the place:)

The power of age :O

What school follows those? WashU!... I wonder why....

The power of massive endowment money

They are followed by Stanford, Dartmouth, Duke and Columbia

Harvard, Pton, Yale, Stanford, Dartmouth, Duke, Columbia, Brown, Penn - most selective based on acceptances, SAT scores, percent of class in top 10. MIT would be after Yale, CIT would be after Stanford.

"They are followed by Stanford, Dartmouth, Duke and Columbia"

-What list is this??

Acceptance rate is not a good indicator as the large name schools to which you refer rmarket like crazy for applications; most of which are thrown in the garbage. Based on Sat's and top ten per cent standing the most selective schools this year are HYPA.

Who cares about top 10 per cent? That's a terrible thing to include....

Yeah Am'erst!!!

:sorry, natural reaction: :D

Julliard School (NY) had the lowest acceptance rate(5%).
