US Presidential Scholars Program

SOS how come my photo won’t upload!!! It says Uploading…100%??? Its stuck???

@JuicyMango I’m having the same issue! The application homepage says that the deadline has been moved to tomorrow, as they are having technical difficulties with their "Amazon hosting service. Hopefully the problem will be resolved by then!

@waterfalls00 Thanks for the info!!! I was freaking out, I thought it was a problem with my computer. So is it also due at 3 pm tomorrow?

@waterfalls00 And can you link me to the homepage where it says about the amazon problem? I can’t find it anywhere

Oh never mind I found it, its on the login page. What a relief!

Help! My parent didn’t write down the Parent Approval Code when first clicking the approval URL. Now, when we try to use the URL again, it says “There can only be one submission per entry and a submission already exists for this entry.” Is there anything we can do to find the code again?

@vonnegut99 I think the best thing to do is immediately email the presidential scholar ppl and ask them what to do. It seems to be some sort of technical issue.

Submitted! Best of luck to everyone :).

Btw, notification of semi-finals qualification comes around mid-April, right?

I wonder how many candidates submit the semifinalist application. Any numbers out there?

@pineapple86 Actually, I heard that the semifinalist application is automatically submitted? I thought that they just review the original Presidential Scholar application one more time? I’m not sure though.

Sorry, I meant the application we just submitted. I was wondering how many candidates actually submit it.

@pineapple86 Oh sorry :p.

On wikipedia it said around 2600/4000 apply, but of course it might be different this year. I’m sure a lot of student don’t apply because there’s no monetary award and it doesn’t affect college decisions. And not to mention the tough essays.

Did anyone print out their submitted application? I noticed the photo is upside down on the print out! Holy smokes - maybe this is due to the technical difficulties?! If you are selected as a semi finalist - is there another application?

Does the June 18-20, 2017 dates conflict with anyone else’s graduation date? Would you choose to skip your graduation to attend the event in DC if you are lucky enough to be a scholar?

I would @MomEof3. It’s hard to compare the two experiences in my opinion!

well @pineapple86 let’s hope she has to make that decision! great problem to have :))

@MomEof3 Lucky for me, that date is a few days after my graduation, so I’ll be able to go to both (that is, if the stars align, and I’m somehow chosen :p).

Your graduations are so late! Mine is in May.

So what states are you from? NJ here

I’m from CA. I think this year you had to have either a 1600 or 36 to qualify because of how intensely competitive the state is.
