I got a 23.83, it says semifinalist, but i didnt get an email
24.33 semifinalist. I am really a semifinalist? I didn’t get an email yet.

Someone said they got semifinalist with a 23.86, so I’m guessing 23.5 ish?
Also, can we be sure that we are semifinalists if it says so under our score, even if we didn’t receive an email yet?
Wait so is the cutoff always at a .5? Like 21.5, 22.5, etc?

Question: How are the USABO semifinal exams scored? I know that the multiple choice portions are just as usual. But How are part B and C scored? The solution guides I find online do nothing to reveal how the partial questions are scored.
Also I’ve been reading around but the cutoff for top 20 seems to be anywhere from 140 to 160s.
I take that back. not necessarily 140 to 160s. but the precentages for cutoff seem to range from high 50s to almost 70. Since the total somehow changes each year
I have the Campbell Biology in focus AP edition. Is this different from the 9th edition Biology book by Campbell. Does it cover all the topics?
o-oh wow i got semifinals…!! does this look good for college? i really want to make UT austin because there is this one girl that really caught my eye, but UT austin is apparently super difficult to make which worries me.
let me rephrase: of course it looks pretty okay, but how much? is it enough for prestigious UT austin?
@HimuraBattousai . This test isn’t the only way to get into a good school. Though it would certainly help, putting down that you’re a semifinalist wouldn’t make or break your decision. I’m sure that if you continue to work hard in school, and focus on EC’s and writing good essays, you’ll get into UT Austin!
