It points southwest-ish, and it’s nearly vertical.

why not perpendicular to the incline’s surface?

Since there is friction that the incline exerts on the ball.

I had the friction force pointing up the inclined plane so the vectorsum between the normal force pointing downward and friction pointing slightly upward from the normal force. Unfortunately I think that’s wrong because the the force of friction on the plane points downward. So the sum is south of the normal.

Yes, I agree that it is south of the normal.

What do you mean that the choices are scrambled? Is this only on the WebAssign version that you are able to view now?

Every single test has its answer choices scrambled. Everything… so even your neighbor during the test will have “different” answers. Thus never compare with A,B,C,D,E, it means absolutely nothing.

@torusdonut
That makes me feel slightly more confident in my choices, then. How do you know this scrambled thing?

Wait, but, the ones that you sent have choices in numerical order; maybe it’s only some problems that get scrambled… hm…

look, just be aware that comparing answers a,b,c,d,e style isn’t accurate.

Are all those answers right? I don’t think…

EDIT: Are the ones filled in with GREEN right, while the ones with GREY are wrong? I’m confused

Kaepernick - I think they are all correct. I redid most of them yesterday and and it looks like the grey and green are both correct. I haven’t gone through all of them yet though.

jxt - I think torus meant that the answer choices are scrambled. The sequence of problems is probably the same, but the answer choices for each problem are scrambled.

I’m still unsure what the official response to that helicopter string problem is. I missed it.
tigerbookmark - I’m not sure if it’s for each problem, though… like I thought they just went in numerical order for the nonconceptual ones

jxt - I don’t think they scramble the numerical order of the problems, just the choices in each problem. Your #1 is probably the same as torus’ #1, but your choice A for #1 may be his/her choice D.

^agreed with above. I took it by paper, and the order of my questions was the same. Not sure about answer choices, but many of the questions had answer choices in numerical order from least to greatest…

Yes, I meant the answer choices in numerical order from least to greatest. I thought every test did that.

Ah, got it. In that case, I have no idea. Anyways, no point worrying about it, results will be out either tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest  But I think you’re safe qualifying with a 13.

I hope I am safe! I do not know… I remember eliminating the first and the last choices for #4, but those the A and E on the one in the Google Docs link do not look eliminate-able… Hmmm… I am confused.

Did you take the paper version or the webassign version?

Paper version. I think the choices on the paper version I took were probably also in least-to-greatest order, though…
