USC Admitted Transfer Students 2009

i worked in a housing department which had tha same system as usc. that just maens u can change ur preferences until the lock ur application when they begin to assign you ur room =)

Did you guys get your usc email?? I just got mine but it is kinda weird. It cuts off part of my last name. Is their a way to change it to something that makes sense??

Caligirl: i think it’s just a specific amount of characters they have to fill. Mine is also cut off and it’s 8 charcters long. I dont know if you can change it.

Mcguigs - re: housing, you should look at the housing brochure to figure our what accommodates you the best. I picked the ones closer to campus as my first choices: Webb tower, cardinal garden, Troy Hall. Go to the housing web site and look around it so you can find out what’s best for you. Also, I picked 2b/4p in case you don;t like your one room mate, you still have 2 to get along with lol. Good luck.

**I NEED ADVISE on this **pleasee…
Someone offered me a spot in founders, on facebook so it’s not anythign official. Im not sure what to do. I want housing, but i want web tower haha! And I know its a 1/1000000000 chance…
what would you guys do???

Ps: i miss ammm90 :frowning: she would always answer everything haha

aaam90 and i got assigned into Founders. we’ll all live close to each other if you take the offer  we submitted reassignment forms, but i bet we’ll just get reassigned in Founders again

mm that would be kinda fun lol.If the housing office allows it, and i make sure her room mates are not horrible, maybe Ill just take it.

peppa… when i logged on today i couldn’t change anything with everything greyed out.

i was confused and i pressed continue, now i can change roommates and housing preferences again haha. poo.

thank you chaly :)

Question: is the allocation of funds of funds for financial aid an objective process? I am a little reluctant to enroll and apply for housing because I still have not received my financial aid yet…I fear that they will give me less aid if they see that I am already committed. It may sound really irrational, but lemme know wut u think : )

mcguigs - i doubt theyd do that, in fact, maybe it would increase your FA, because theyd rather give to someone who is def gonna come, than offer a lot to someone who may not come, even if it gets higher  2 sides to every argument ;D

as for chaly(and anyone else who cares :stuck_out_tongue: ),
i just called 30 mins ago, WEBB TOWER IS COMPLETELY FILLED. if youre not in it yet, then youre not going to be, unless some jackass wants to get out of there :P

as for off campus housing, im sure most of you know this already, but still :)

i learned that theyre all within a mile of tommy trojan, and hes like at the center of campus(right?) so i mean, its not too bad, like 5 mins from edge of campus
also, all the frat houses on ‘the row’ are on west 28th street(according to wikipedia:P), and all the off campus ones are REALLY REALLY close to that, spec founders  but i mean, i guess all the really good parties would be there anyway, right? and then since theres like 10 USC offcampus buildings right next to each other, there’ll be a ton of trojans everywhere anyway  and i mean, theres bound to be like at least 10-15 parties in those buildings combined on any given weekend  so thats not a big problem :)

as for proximity to campus, like i said, theyre within a mile of tommy, so i mean, a little bit of walking wont hurt

also, one thing i found interesting was that at night we get free ‘usc taxi’ to our buildings, you just call and this patrolling shuttle/car thing will come pick you up and drop you off  sounds pretty good to me

anyone have any other info that i have missed? i am def not 100% sure of the situation, so please feel free to enlighten me, i just feel right now that it wouldnt be too bad :)

does anyone know of any easy g.e classes to take? i need to fulfill 4 eleective units on top of my heavy schedule and wanted to know if anyone has any input or advice of what to take! thanks

Also, did anyone else get an email with a ‘Honors In Multimedia Scholarship’ program?

nlavian- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/722627-category-vi.html</a>
it might be helpful to read this when you decide which category VI GE you want to take. i don’t know about the rest of them though.

ns89- i got that email too

i can’t sleep :(

** received an email about latino floor in Flour Tower**
saying that I could still apply. It’s a freshman dorm tower, BUT it’s right next to Webb tower and right on campus… what should I do??? haha!

chaly,
I got that e-mail too. I replied asking them the same question, I’ll let you know what they say.

That would be so cool, even if I’m living with a bunch of young people. Better than the 23+ year-olds that they put me with, haha. Or not?

mandatory meal plan?

is it me, or does that seem a little… racist? lol
maybe i would rather dorm there instead of 20 minutes away? :frowning: idk…just saying…

yeah, I’ve always felt weird about these types of things. Kind of patronized in a way, you know? But heck, if it’s there, I’d be dumb not to try, right?

mmm i dont know about mandatory meal plan… and I kinda have that same feeling grey. I love us latinos but I dont wanna limit my friendships with people from different backgrounds!.. BUT IT’S SOOOO CLOSE to the lyon centerr!!! but it’s not an apartment… i dont know what to do!!! :(

Hey guys,

For anyone who might have just gotten accepted as a transfer student and has NOT submitted a USC housing application and is interested in living in USC housing this might be an option for you! I have a spot available in an extremely popular apartment complex across the street from campus. It’s across the street from Cafe 84 and the Lyon Center gym facility. This apartment complex is safe and DPS is always patrolling the area. It also has it’s own parking lot. It’s a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment with a kitchen.

Send me a message if you are interested!!! Housing spots are on a first come first serve basis!

Please remember, in order to qualify for my apartment spot you cannot submit the housing application to USC. It’s their policy. I am trying to find someone to take my spot because I plan on commuting instead. Thanks guys! :)
