I was just admitted into USC today! I sent in my deposit, did my financial aid, and signed up for housing alllll today.

So I was wondering… what do I need to do to set up my USC e-mail address? Do I have to wait for it? Can anyone provide me with a website or link? ANY sort of help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

@Yott: Thanks so much for the info >.< I was about to put down the $2042 deposit but now I think I need to reconsider this since I’m from Seattle and don’t have a chance to come and visit. Do you have any rec on housing? I called USC Housing and they said there are 60% that I’m not getting any room assignments (I applied around May 28th)>.< so I need to plan ahead. Was the single-room for $675 at USCrental that awfully small? Where do you plan on staying? (if u dun mind sharing:D)

Has anyone done the Math Placement Test on the Pre-Orientation HW?
and btw, CONGRATZ to KLIM3690

soo… any girls wanna get a 2 bedroom apt with me? just in case we don’t get university housing =/ and maybe one who wants her own room. i saw some places right by the ones that are considered to be USC housing =D

@yuta
i didnt check out the single rooms in the shared house. i only checked out their studios that were close to campus and those were smaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall. no closets, a bathroom that made soooo much noise, it made me feel like i was near a jet, and the studio part is smaller than my future bedroom in trojan palms. you might have better luck with the shared house.

i posted this a few pages ago:
i got a two bedroom but it’s filled already, sorry guys. i know trojan palms are already out of 1 and 2 bedroom rooms but they might still have 3 and 4 bedroom rooms. you can check out stuho.com and sternmanagement.com for some apartments as well. i also visited the tuscany apartments that are managed by usc and they are niiiiiiiiiice. they are out of private one bedrooms but they have rooms available in 3 bedrooms suites if you guys wanna check that out as well.

yo klim–
you have to wait 7 days for them to process your deposit. then you’ll get an email giving you a bunch of info on orientation (also about your email)

I got accepted on the first of June, deposited on the second (or third), and received my financial aid on the 17th online (on the 20th in the mail).

I applied for housing on June 1. As some may know, I am comig from NY and do not know to much about LA. I can not just move to LA to go to school with out a place to stay. Now my question is, since I know I may not get university housing but, if I get an apartment off campus does financial aid cover it or is it all out of pocket since I know most of them are monthly payments? Also would it better my chances of getting university housing if I found a roomate?

You might still get housing. Hang tight for now.

And no, from what I’ve gathered, requesting a roommate will lessen your housing chances since it’s more difficult to place two people together instead of placing just one person.

me and zirc both applied for housing, and we havent gotten our assignment yet, however, it looks as if we will be turning it down for another USc managed building that we found(well, he found it), and so that will most likely open up 2 spots :)

the lady i talked to in housing said i had a VERY strong chance of getting housing back when i talked to her because i applied, so im guessing i/we will, and were not taking it, like i said :)
