Greetings,

School: American River College (a junior college based in Sacramento)

GPA: 3.23 (a projection for all 67 transferable units)

Amount of units completed by Fall 14': 67 transferable

Achievements:

creator, VP, and COO of Finance Economics Business Achievement

Member of English Lit Club

Columnist for Homeward Street Journal (a newspaper which educates the public on homelessness and poverty in Sacramento), and the American River Current (my junior college's newspaper)

Ideally, I would like to write for a local magazine that focuses on the entertainment industry, so let's add this into the equation too.

I'm not sure if this helps, but my older brother is a recent graduate from Marshall School of Business, and was a co-creator of Trojan Real Estate Club. The influence of legacy on admissions, not, for instance, scholarships, seems to be hearsay, but I'm curious if this is something that I can use to my benefit.

I understand that my GPA is not terribly competitive, but it seems that USC adds a considerable amount of importance to activities that are beyond academia, which brings me to my next question; how can I improve my chances?
